An alarming new study reveals that synthetic chemicals are prevalent in the majority of consumed foods.
Here are the details:
393 food samples originating from the United Kingdom were inspected for 8 distinct organophosphates, which are utilized as chemical agents in various household items such as flame retardants and furniture.
Astonishingly, EVERY food sample contained either triphenyl phosphate (TPHP) or 2-ethylhexyl diphenyl phosphate (EHDPP); the only exception was eggs.
It was projected that beverages were the main source of organophosphates in the diets of children (27%), while cereal products and fruits served as major dietary contributors for adults.
While the estimated exposure levels were deemed safe for adults, these same rates came frighteningly close to surpassing safety thresholds in toddlers and children. In some instances, such as with EHDPP exposures, there was an alarming 88% of the recommended limit reached among those under 18 years old.
This study suggests that the chemical concentrations present in UK foods are comparable to those found internationally.
